Why Dive at Night?
Many reef animals change their behaviour after dark. Creatures you rarely see in daylight come out to feed and hunt, and your torch picks out colours that fade at depth in the daytime. It is a different dive on the same reef, and a great way to add variety to your time in Fiji.
What You Might See
- Octopuses Active hunters on the reef at night.
- Lobsters Out of their hiding places after dark.
- Eels Often more visible when they move about after sunset.
- Reef colour Vibrant colours light up in the beam of your torch.
- Bioluminescence Glowing wonders may be seen in the right conditions.
These are wild animals and conditions change from night to night, so we can't promise any particular sighting. For more, see our guide to the marine life of Fiji.
