How the day unfolds
Back on the dock between 12:30 and 1:00 pm, with the rest of the afternoon to yourself.

Briefing and gear check
A shark behaviour briefing, a gear check and the safety protocols, before we head out.
- 35 minute boat ride
Out to the Colosseum
Refreshments and snacks aboard as we cross Beqa Lagoon to the site.
- Dive one · about 30 minutes
Hand feeding
Descend to 18–20 metres and kneel along the wall while our guides hand-feed the sharks. Finish with a 5 minute safety stop.

Surface interval
Rest, warm up and talk through what you saw.
- Dive two
Free feeding
The same calm descent, then sharks feed from a suspended bin. Tiger sharks often rise from deeper water for this one.

Photo and video packages are available if you want to take the dive home.

The Colosseum · Conservation
A reef that came back to life
Once nearly lifeless from overfishing, the Colosseum now hosts around 300 fish species and healthy corals after 25 years of conservation and responsible ecotourism. Your dive helps pay for reef cleanups, educational materials and programs that support local villages.

Good to know
- Open Water certification is required.
- 2–4 guests per staff member, a deliberately low ratio.
- Follow the procedures. Non-compliance ends the dive immediately.
- Minimum of 4 guests unless you book a private dive or pay for 4 spots. If a dive cancels for low numbers, you're fully refunded.
Questions
Before you book
Do I need to be certified?
Yes. An Open Water certification is required. The 18–20 metre depth suits divers of many experience levels.
Is it safe?
Guests are looked after by a low ratio of 2–4 guests per staff member, and every dive starts with a full shark behaviour and safety briefing. Guests must follow the dive procedures; non-compliance ends the dive.
When is the best time of year?
Winter (May–October) brings a greater concentration of sharks and cooler 20°C water. Summer (November–April) offers warmer 29–34°C water, calmer seas and excellent visibility.
Do I need my own gear?
Gear rental is not included unless your package says so. Rental is $50 FJD per day or $25 FJD per item.
What if I only complete one tank?
Pricing applies to the full two-tank dive, with no refund or discount for finishing a single tank.
Why is there a minimum of four guests?
The dive runs with a minimum of four guests, unless you book a private dive or pay for four spots yourself. If a dive is cancelled for insufficient numbers, you receive a full refund.
Where can I eat afterwards?
The Shark Bait Cafe is on land beside the dive shop, serving breakfast and lunch.
